Most Asked Questions

Orders that contain in-stock items usually be shipped within 3-5 business days. Assembly orders will take 7-10 days. It may take longer for order placed from Thanksgiving to Christmas due to very high volume.  You will receive a tracking email as soon as your item has shipped. Most of orders are shipped via Less than truckload (LTL) and it will take 3-7 days to arrive, and take longer to remote area (mountain, forest, valley, island). You will see expected arrive date on shipping carriers website per tracking information we sent. 

Unless otherwise specified, the vehicles we offer are crated or on a palette. Unless you order assembly servie, they are not assembled and require a few basic tools to complete. If you are not confident in your ability to safely assemble an off-road high-speed vehicle please let our team assemble this for you or ship it to a local mechanic. One of the best sources of information on how to assemble these vehicles is Youtube.

Typical Dirt Bikes- Front tire, handlebars, and rear shocks. Depending on the unit, you may have smaller things to install like foot pegs and/or gas cap. The bikes will come with break in oil already in them. This break in oil must be changed within eight hours of riding time. Severe damage can occur if sufficient break in time has not been allowed. YOU MUST CHECK THE OIL LEVEL BEFORE THE INITIAL START UP. WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE OIL HAS REMAINED IN THE VEHICLE DURING SHIPMENT. If there is no oil in the vehicle upon arrival, fill the engine with quality motor oil.

Typical ATVs- All 4 tires, handlebars, utility racks (if included). Depending on the unit, you may have smaller things to install like footpegs, mirrors, and/or gas cap. The bikes will come with break in oil already in them. YOU MUST CHECK THE OIL LEVEL BEFORE THE INITIAL START UP. WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE OIL HAS REMAINED IN THE VEHICLE DURING SHIPMENT. If there is no oil in the vehicle upon arrival, fill the engine with quality motor oil.

Typical Scooters- Battery, front tire, mirrors, rear storage box, and windshield. The scooters will come with oil already in them.

Typical GoKarts/UTVs/CUVs– Tires, seats, top roll cage bars, steering wheel, and likely a few other small parts. The units will come with break in oil already in them. YOU MUST CHECK THE OIL LEVEL BEFORE THE INITIAL START UP. WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE OIL HAS REMAINED IN THE VEHICLE DURING SHIPMENT. Due to shipping safety, we cannot do 100% fully assembly on most of items.

Mirrors, battery set up, handlebar and other minor adjustments are required. Be sure to tighten all screws, check for appropriate levels of engine fluid and fully charge battery prior to operation. Warranty is valid straight from the box.

For go karts, you will need to install rolling cage, steering wheels, and connect battery. Some models (small to middel size) may require slide seats and hook gas tank.

Product Troubleshooting and Maintenance

 

Usually, there are many chemical compositions in fuel as
Gasoline additives for many reasons. 

It’s good for engine to work efficiently and powerful. 

But on the other hand,  

Some composition would condensate or influence the mix ration
of fuel & air. 

  

So, as you can see in the user manual. 

We suggest you drain the fuel from the carburetor or use the
fuel stabilizer. 

  

If you wanna drain the fuel from carburetor, just do the
following steps: 

  1. take away the fuel tub.
  2. unscrew the screw.
  3. let the fuel drain out from the drain tube.

 

You can try these steps.

The following information provided below is to help you get started with your new bike. It is not a training manual and does not guarantee any bike malfunctions. Make sure you keep up with normal maintenance for your pit bike just like you would a Honda, Yamaha or any other brand. As always, MotoBuys provides free technical support to all of our customers. Below are a few tips to get you started.

  1. When you first get your bike make sure you go over every bolt on the bike to make sure that it is tight. We also recommend that you use locktite on all of the bolts. Make sure you check your bolts again after each of your first 3 rides minimum.
  2. When you first get your pit bike out of the crate or off the pallet (assembled bikes) it is important that you tighten the spokes. You will also need to re-check the spokes after every 2-3 rides. To tighten the spokes, from the valve stem, tighten every third spoke, with just a few turns each until you work your way all the way around the wheel. Repeat this process until all the spokes are completely tight.
  3. After your initial ride your chain is going to stretch. It is important to keep your chain tightened to the appropriate tension to avoid chain malfunction while riding. You will also want to check your chain every time before you go ride.
  4. On some of the bikes, the rear shock is adjustable by tightening and loosening your rear spring. You can do this by turning the two large main nuts on the top of the shock spring. There is also a set screw you can loosen to turn these two nuts.
  5. Only fill your gas tank with gas (91+ octane) !!! All our pit bikes require premium, unleaded gas. We do not recommend using high octane, 100 +, race gas.
  1. Always wear a DOT-compliant helmet, goggles, long sleeves, long pants, over-the-ankle boots, and gloves.
  2. Never ride on paved roads except to cross when done safely and permitted by law
    - another vehicle could hit you. ATVs are designed to be operated off-highway.
  3. Never ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  4. Never carry a passenger on a single-rider ATV, and no more than one passenger on an ATV specifically designed for two people.
  5. Ride an ATV that's right for your age.
  6. Supervise riders younger than 16; ATVs are not toys.
  7. Ride only on designated trails and at a safe speed.

This off-highway utility vehicle handles differently from other vehicles including cars and ATVS. Where INIURY OR DEATH can result if you do not follow these instructions:

- Read this manual and labels carefully and follow the operating procedures described.
- This vehicle is designed to carry the driver and one passenger. Never carry . passengers in the cargo bed. Always be sure the driver and passenger are wearing seat belts.
- Never give a ride to a passenger who is too small to reach and hold the handgrip on the enclosure. Always avoid operating the vehicle on any paved surfaces, including sidewalks, driveways, parking Lots, and streets.
- Never operate this vehicle in any public street, road, or highway, even a dirt or gravel one.
- Never operate this vehicle without wearing an approved motorcycle helmet that fits properly. You should also wear eye protection (goggles or a face shield), gloves, over-the-ankle boots, long-sleeved shirt or jacket, and long pants.
- Never consume alcohol or drugs before or while operating this vehicle.
- Never operate at speeds too fast for your skills or the conditions. Always go at a speed that is proper for the terrain, visibility, operating conditions, and your experience.
- Never attempt jumps or other stunts.
- Always inspect your vehicle each time you use it is in safe operating condition. Always follow the inspection and maintenance procedures and schedules described in this manual.
- Always keep hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the vehicle at all tinies during I operation. Keep your feet on the floorboard
- Never hold onto the enclosure except when using the handgrip inside the enclosure. otherwise, your hand could be injured if it is caught between the enclosure and an obstacle outside the vehicle. Always keep both hands on the steerinB wheel when driving.
- Never wrap your thumbs and fingers around the steering wheel. This is particularly important when driving in rough terrain. The front wheels will move right and left as they respond to the terrain, and this movement will be felt in the steering wheel. A sudden jolt could wrench the steering wheel around, and your thumbs or fingers could be injured if they are in the way of the steering wheel spokes.
- Always go slowly and be extra careful when operatinS on unfamiliar terrain. Always be alert to changing terrain conditions when driving the vehicle'
- Never operate on excessively rough, slippery, or loose terrain until you have learned and practiced the skills necessary to control the vehicle on such terrain. Always be especially cautious on these kinds of terrain.
- Never turn at excessive speed. Practice turning at slow speeds before attempting to turn at faster speeds. Do not attempt turns on steep inclines'
- Never operate the vehicle on hills that are too steep for it or for your abilities Go straight up and down hills where possible. Maximum slope angle:15
- Never operate on hills that are slippery or ones where you will not be able to see far enough ahead of you. Never go over the top of a hill at speed if you cannot see what is on the other side.
- Always follow proper procedures for going uphill. lf you lose momentum and cannot continue up a hill, back down the hill with the engine in reverse gear' Use engine braking to help you go slowly. lf necessary, use the brakes Sradually to help you go slowly.
- Always check terrain carefully before going down hills' Go as slowly as possible' Never go down a hill at high speed.
- Always check for obstacles before operating in a new area'
- Never operate the vehicle in fast flowing water or water deeper than the floorboards on this model. Remember that wet brakes may have reduced stopping ability. Test your brakes after leaving water. lf necessary, apply them several times to let friction dry out the linings.
- Always be sure these are no obstacles or people behind you when you operate in reverse. When it is safe to proceed in reverse, go slowly' Do not brake abruptly when carrying loads in the cargo bed'
- Always use the size and type of tire specified in this manual'
- Always maintain proper tire pressure as described in this manual' Never exceed the stated load capacity. cargo should be as far forward in the bed as possible, and distributed evenly from side to side. Be sure cargo is secured so that it cannot move around during operation. Reduce speed and follow instructions in thin manual for carrying cargo or pulling a trailer. Allow Sreater distance for braking'

You must inspect your UTV each time before riding to ensure it is in proper working order. If proper inspection is not done, severe injury or death could result.

Use the following checklist to verify your machine is in proper working order each time you ride.

 

ITEM/ INSPECTION PROCEDURE

  1. Tire - check condition and pressures.
  2. Battery - Check whether the connection is reliable, whether the terminal has protection
  3. All Brakes - check fluid level, check operation, adjustment (includes parking brake).
    1. Brake pedalCheck for correct brake pedal free play. If the brake pedal free play is incorrect, have an authorized dealer adjust it. Check the operation of the brake pedal. It should move smoothly and there should be a firm feeling when the brakes are applied. If not, have the vehicle inspected by your dealer.
    2. Brake fluid leakageCheck to see if any brake fluid is leaking out of the pipe joints or the brake fluid reservoir. Apply the brakes firmly for one minute. If there is any leakage, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized dealer.
    3. Check the brake fluid levelAdd fluid if necessary.
    4. Brake operationTest the brakes at slow speed after starting out to make sure they are working properly. If the brakes do not provide proper braking performance, inspect the brake system.
  4. Throttle - check for free operation, closing and freeplay.
    Check to see that the accelerator pedal operates correctly. It must operate smoothly and fully spring back to the idle position when released.
    Have an authorized dealer repair as necessary for proper operation.
  5. Headlight/Tailight/Brake light - check operation of all indicator lights and switches.
  6. Air Switch - check for proper function
  7. Wheels - check for tightness of wheel nuts and axle nuts; check those axle nuts are secured by cotter pins
    Check balance/ damage/ runout. Have an authorized dealer repair/ replace if necessary.
    Check bearing assemblies for looseness/damage. Have an authorized dealer replace if damaged.
  8. Air cleaner element -
  9. Steering - check for free operation noting any unusual looseness in any area.
    Park on level ground. Turn the steering wheel right and left. Check for excessive free play, abnormal noises, or a rough feeling. Have an authorized dealer repair as necessary for proper operation.
  10. Loose parts - visually inspect vehicle for any damaged components or loose nuts/bolts or fasteners.
    Always check the tightness of chassis fittings and fasteners before a ride. Take the vehicle to your dealer for correct tightening torque.
  11. Operator’s and passenger’s helmets, goggles and clothing.
  12. Seat belts - Check for proper operation and belt wear.
    Make sure that both seat belts are not frayed or damaged. The seat belt must move smoothly when pulled out and retract on its own when released. The latch plate should click securely into the buckle and release when the release button is pushed firmly. Clean off any dirt or mud which could affect operation. Have an authorized dealer repair as necessary for proper operation.

Always wear clothing suite to the type of riding you are doing. UTV riding requires special protective clothing which will make you fell more comfortable and reduce chances of injury.

  1. Helmet
    Your helmet is the most important piece of protective gear for safe riding. A helmet can prevent a severe head injury. Select an approved off-road motorcycle -type helmets that fits properly.
  2. Eye Protection
    A pair of goggles or helmet face shield offer the best protection for your eyes.
  3. Gloves(off-road style)
  4. Boots
    A pair of strong over the calf type boots with heels, such as motocross boots.
  5. Clothing
    To protect your body, long sleeves and pants should always be worn. Riding pants with kneepads, a jersey and shoulder pads provide the best protection.

POTENTIAL HAZARD
Operating this vehicle without wearing an approved motorcycle helmet, eye protection, and protective clothing.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
Operating without an approved motorcycle helmet increases your chances of a severe head injury or death in the event of an accident.
Operating without eye protection can result in an accident and increases your chances of a severe injury in the event of an accident.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
Always wear an approved motorcycle helmet that fits properly. You should also wear: eye protection (goggles or face shield), gloves, boots, long-sleeved shirt or jacket long pants.

First, turn on the gas and make sure the ignition is on for your bike. Pull out the kicker on your bike and find top dead center by feeling the compression increase.  Turn on the choke, if it’s cold, and start kicking your bike until the motorcycle runs.

The action seems simple until you think about all the steps and what goes into them.  We will break this process down into more detail for you now and give additional points to make kicking starting your bike easy.

 

Steps To Kick Start A Dirt Bike

This part of the how-to guide will lead you through the detailed process of how to kick start your bike.  Note though, you may have to make a few adjustments based on the bike you ride. There are some nuances for each model and even the model year.

Step 1. Find neutral

Your first step in starting your bike with a kick start is finding neutral.  New riders may find this tricky as neutral is the click between first and second gear.  

To find neutral click the shifter down multiple times. Once you do this, try clicking the gear shifter up halfway in between first and second. Roll your bike back and forth about 6 inches to a foot.

If it does not roll, then you are not in neutral.

Pro-Tip: Sometimes the dirt bike will not always get to first gear even when you press the shifter down several times.  I will click it down three or four times and then roll it before pressing the shifter down another few times. This helps ensure you get into first gear.

Exceptions To The Neutral Location On Dirt Bikes

Our dirt bikes that have neutral “at the bottom” of the gears. A normal dirt bike transmission looks like the following pattern.

Why is finding neutral on your dirt bike important?

If you do not find neutral, you risk the bike lurching forward when you kick it over.  It could pull a shoulder or arm muscle as you will not be expecting the bike to move.

 

Pro-Tip: You can create a backup to help prevent the bike from lurching forward. If you have a clutch on your bike, pull it in as you kick the bike over. NOTE this is not a replacement for making sure the bike is in neutral. This is extra insurance to prevent you from having the bike move as you kick it over.

 

Step 2. Pre-Kick Checklist

Without completing the pre-kick checklist your bike will not start.  Make sure you complete each task.

  • Turn on the Gas– Your bike needs gas to run, make sure it is on. You will find the petcock (on/off) usually on the left-hand side of your bike.  The petcock will be in the on position when the lever is inline with the fuel hose coming out of the valve. It should also say on, but I have had a few that did not.

Pro-Tip: If the valve swings around 180 degrees so it looks like the valve has two settings with the lever being in line with the fuel line, you likely have a reserve setting.  Make sure you check this out before you just turn it to one setting and go.

 

  • Choke the dirt bike– If the weather is below 60 degrees, always choke your bike before the first kick.  The choke will be a knob you can pull that makes starting your dirt bike on cold days easier.  

           Note though, the choke will look different and found in different positions for each dirt bike.  If you are lucky enough to have a dirt bike with electronic fuel injection, you will skip this step. The computer makes the adjustments that a choke does.

  • Turn on the ignition–  This feature pertains to modern dirt bikes. Not every dirt bike has an ignition.  If they made your bike after 2003 make sure you know if your bike needs a key. My 1993 CR250 does not have a key or ignition switch.

        You need to make sure this is on because the coils will not send a spark if the ignition is not in the on position.

 

  • Put your kickstand or center stand up.  Do not ask me why this is important. Ok, I guess I have to tell you. Once I tried starting my RM 125 as a teenager while standing on the pegs. The kickstand was down, and I thought things would be ok as I kicked the bike over.  

        Long story short, I ended up losing my grip and my left foot slipped off the peg. I fell off the bike, and it fell on top of me.

 

Step 3. Find Top Dead Center

While finding top dead center is unnecessary, I find it helpful to know where the bike is in intake, compression, ignition, and exhaust.  If you just start kicking your bike over, it can be more difficult to start.

By knowing where the stroke is, you can time when you need to give a little extra gas to start.  This mainly applies to used bikes and older bikes.  

I also feel like it builds momentum further into the kicking stroke as you press the kick starter down.  As you get past the initial compression at the weak part of your kick, the momentum builds creating enough inertia to turn the crank over a few more times from the same kick.

This is not scientific by any means, but it is what I have noticed from riding dirt bikes for over 30 years.

Finding Top Dead Center On Dirt Bike Engine

Top dead center will be tough the first few times you look for it.  The easiest way to find it is by slowly kicking your bike over and noticing the pattern of resistance and easy as the motor turns over.

The resistance you notice is the motor building compression.  Right after the peak of compression the easy part of the cycle starts. 

It is coming up on the last part of the compression when the motor is top dead center.  

 

Give it time and slow down while starting your bike the next few times you go riding.  You will see what I mean.

Pro-Tip: If your bike has a large displacement (anything greater than 350 cc’s) be extra careful.  These dirt bikes are known to kick back and break legs. Look for a decompression valve. These provide relief on the compression stroke making the dirt bike easier to turn over. 

 

Step 4. Start Kicking Over The Dirt Bike Motor

If you have been following the steps so far, you have already completed a few slow kicks.

Now you put some effort into it.  Do not kick as hard as you can. Your foot can slip off and twist an ankle.  Yep, I did this too, and I’ll save you the story.

Step 5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4.

Try completing steps 3 and 4 several times. If the bike does not start, you may have flooded the bike. This means there is too much fuel and not enough air to start the bike.

Pro-Tip: If you noticed the smell of gas you flooded the bike.  Open the throttle and hold it wide open for 30 seconds. This may help. If not, you have a problem somewhere else. Checkout this article I wrote to help diagnose the issue.

Remember that by purchasing a vehicle online, you are responsible for performing the setup that a dealer would normally perform - such as putting on tires, hooking up the battery, checking the tightness of all nuts and bolts, changing oil, etc. Occasionally some units may need other routine items checked/adjusted such as adjusting the carburetor idle and mixture screws, checking to ensure wires are well connected, adjusting chain slack, and alignment if needed. Although you may perform your own assembly please check the machine you are purchasing to validate if your warranty supports self-assembly. Most warranties require a certified mechanic to check and validate the mechanical well being of your new purchase. We will gladly assist you with any technical questions. We have prepared assistance for you to help properly maintain your new purchase!

LABOR TO REPAIR OR REPLACE PARTS: Motobuys does not pay or reimburse any labor cost under any circumstances.

The factory parts warranty covers any manufacturing defect parts that are not damaged or broken while riding. The factory warranty covers motor parts for 3 months depending on the model, (or unless an extended warranty is purchased) from the date of purchase, the factory warranty only covers the motor and electric parts and the parts must be sent in for replacement as required by the factory. The warranty does NOT cover wear and tear parts such as tires, wheels, brakes, clutches plastics, and the initial setup costs OR ANY LABOR. The buyer must diagnose any issues and you can call our tech support assist you to diagnose the problem.

For most of products, there is no official assembly instructions provided by manufacturers. So we are offering assembling option when you place the order. We are happy to provide support but may not be sufficient if you choose to assemble yourself. We strongly encourage you hire professionals to assemble full size go karts and UTV’s. We may not honor warranty if the issues are caused by mistake during assembly.

Returns and Refund

MOTOBUYS.com takes every effort to ensure your package arrives in satisfactory condition by using secure packing materials and utilizing reliable carriers. If you should receive a package that is damaged or missing items, please contact MOTOBUYS.com immediately at customercare@motobuys.com

Most claims can be corrected with a few simple replacement parts that we will ship to you immediately after your claim is approved

  1. Upon arrival of your vehicle fully inspect the entire unit BEFORE signing the delivery receipt. If your vehicle has sustained damage, you must note the damages on the delivery receipt and have the driver sign in acknowledgment. (DO NOT REFUSE DELIVERY). Email a copy of the delivery receipt and pictures of the damage to customercare@motobuys.com as soon as possible. Failing to do so will void the claim.
  2. All noted damage must be reported to Motobuys via e-mail within 3 days of delivery.
  3. Please save original packing material for investigation by the shipping company. Please take pictures of the damaged vehicle, crate and cardboard cover and send to customercare@motobuys.com within 3 days of delivery, please include your order number, your name, address, phone number and tracking number.
  4. Replacement part(s) or non-repairable vehicle warranty reimbursement will be given once we receive complete supporting documents for the damage claim; and or the trucking company has settled and approved the claim.
  5. Again, keep the shipping carton and its packing materials. If the shipment has been damaged by the carrier, MOTOBUYS.com will issue a claim with the carrier on your behalf.

Our sales representatives will inform you of any price changes that may have occurred when you are placing your order. We cannot honor typographical errors on our website or catalog.

Most returns are processed 10-14 days from the time that they are received in our warehouse. Orders taken by credit card will have their credit card refunded 10-14 business days from the time the package is received in our warehouse. If you requested an exchange, the return should be processed and on it's way back to you within 10-14 business days from its received date.

Shipping and Delivery

Motobuys can accommodate gift purchases. We may need to verify identification prior to shipment.

Right now, we do not directly ship to international. However, our customer usually find an export agent and we ship the products to agent warehouse. We are not responsible for any exporting document and custom work. After the agent receive the product, Motobuys will not responsible for any future shipping cost or shipping issues. 

Motobuys ships vehicle purchases via designated freight companies such as, ABF Freight, R&L Carriers and a number of other bonded transportation companies. Large, fully assembled items are shipped via private car carriers.

Approximate shipping times: Accessories & Gear Purchases: Varies

Vehicle Purchases: 10 to 14 days total processing and shipping times are the norm, however these times may increase during certain times of the year, i.e. Christmas. Freight companies do not deliver on Saturday and Sunday. Please understand that severe weather and other delays may extend these times even for in stock items. If you are having your vehicle assembled, please allow 7 to 10 additional business days for delivery. Expedited vehicle handling is available for a small fee. This can save 2 to 3 days on most orders. The freight company will call you to schedule delivery 24 hours prior. The freight cannot be left at your house without someone there to sign for and inspect the shipment.

IF YOU CANCEL YOUR ORDER ONCE IT HAS SHIPPED, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FREIGHT CHARGES AND RESTOCKING FEES. A 6% cancellation fee will be charged on orders that have been processed and sent to one of our warehouses for handling. If you choose to cancel your order once it has shipped, you will be charged “to and from shipping and handling charges” and up to a 25% restocking fee.

Replacement parts are normally sent out via USPS. A tracking number will be provided once they have shipped.

VEHICLE SHIPPING

Get Ready for Delivery!

Your vehicle will not be delivered without a signature and inspection. Our shipping carriers WILL contact you to arrange delivery 24 to 48 prior to delivery. Remember, delivery can take an average of anywhere from 10-14 business days from your order date, depending on assembly options, size of the unit, your location, weather, traffic conditions and time of the year. Your vehicle will be shipped by a professional LTL trucking company. We do not ship to Canada or Puerto Rico. We will gladly ship to freight forwarders for orders going to Alaska, Hawaii and the Caribbean Islands. Accessories like helmets will arrive separately from your vehicle. MOTOBUYS.com does not offer expedited shipping. We can offer expedited handling that will take 2-3 days off of the delivery time, however due to the size of the vehicles we cannot guarantee a specific delivery date.

Motobuys does not book directly to Hawaii or Alaska.  You can contact any freight forwarding company the west coast and we will ship to them with your name and reference/booking number attached to the bill of landing.

Simply contact Motobuys and we will give you the crate size and weight of your unit.  The customer will then contact the freight forwarding company with the dimensions. They will give the customer a quote and the customer will pay them directly 

The customer is 100% responsible for the cost of the shipment from the freight forwarding company to their home.  Any damage in shipping will be handled by the freight company and the customer.
